He is the owner of GSM Auto Group, also known as Audi Mission Viejo and Volvo Cars Mission Viejo.

Matt and his wife Margo have four daughters – Annalee, Meg, Caroline and Elsa.

What motivates your desire to give back?

There’s an old Ralph Waldo Emerson quote that drives my being — “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”

Why are you supporting the medical center? 

Our local hospital is a “not if, but when” institution. No organization in our community has a more wide-spread impact on our quality of life than Mission Hospital.

Why did you agree to join the foundation board?

It was clear to me when invited to join and serve the Mission Hospital Foundation Board, that it was one of the best chances I’d had to impact the community that serves our family, our employees and our customers.
