She’s enjoyed serving in undergraduate mentoring programs with USC, charities supporting the arts, medical institutions and environmental awareness programs.

Serena and her husband Matthew have one son.

What motivates your desire to give back?

Unlike other aspects of your life you may not be able to control, volunteering allows you to choose where and how to make a difference. With Mission Hospital, it is easy to get inspired with a cause you truly care about.

Why are you supporting the medical center? 

For the past year, I’ve served on the Foundation as a board member of Mission Hospital, as well as on the board of Valiant Women at Mission Hospital, a group of dedicated people united by the spirit of giving and a common desire to ensure that all women receive quality health care.

Why did you agree to join the Foundation board?

I agreed to join the Foundation board because I’m motivated to make a real, lasting difference at Mission Hospital.
