Family, Faith And Philanthropy
Tim and Steph Busch give where their faith leads
Longtime Providence Mission Hospital supporters Tim and Steph Busch have invested in advancing care in our community. “We’ve lived in Nellie Gail for 38 years, Mission is in our backyard,” says Tim. “We’ve watched Providence Mission Hospital expand and progress over the years, and we’ve been proud to support it.”
The family-oriented couple is glad to have outstanding care close by. “We cherish the bond of family and its importance,” smiles Steph. “With the blessing of nine grandchildren, we take comfort in knowing there is a top-notch hospital that is a pillar of support not only for our family, but for the entire community.”
Serving spiritual needs
Providence Mission Hospital’s Mission of being an expression of God’s healing love aligns with the Buschs’ values. “For us, our faith is part of who we are and is intertwined in everything we do,” says Steph. “For the hospital, we’re grateful that it’s serving people with a broad spectrum of needs and providing care for the whole person, including their spiritual needs.”
The hospital is unique in that it has a department devoted to mission integration. “We are standing on the shoulders of the Sisters of St. Joseph and the Sisters of Providence,” says Sister Thuy Tran, foundation chaplain. “In so many ways, that helps point the direction for us and ensures our service to the community is aligned with our values. It helps bring the work we do to life.”
We’re here to help
As community leaders, Tim and Steph have made a significant impact on faith-based education in our community. They co-founded St. Anne School in Laguna Niguel, where Tim served as chairman and CEO for 17 years, and JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano.
“We’re always here to help people,” Tim says. “Our schools have helped multitudes of children in our community.” Steph adds, “It’s the right thing to do for the community and we’ve been blessed to be able to help others.”
For the past two decades, the couple has given significantly to support growth at Providence Mission Hospital. “Tim and Steph’s generosity is making a difference for our patients,” says Seth Teigen, chief executive. “We are grateful for their commitment to serving our community and glad to count them as valued members of the Providence Mission Hospital family.”
