STORIES OF IMPACT
Lives are being changed forever

Guiding Lights
A patient’s journey through serious illness is often marked by stress, uncertainty and the need for complex care coordination. Navigators at Providence Mission Hospital guide patients through every phase of their experience — from diagnosis through treatment, recovery and beyond.

A Second Chance at Life
Interventional radiologist Kevin Burns, M.D., was on duty the day Larry was admitted to the hospital. According to Dr. Burns, 95 percent of those who develop this condition don’t survive, which is why Larry was read his last rights in the ICU. “The situation was dire, and I knew we had to act fast,” says Dr. Burns.

A Community United
During times of grief and sadness, the outpouring of love and support from the community was truly remarkable. From the Orange County Sheriff’s Department providing therapy dogs for our caregivers to the heartwarming messages and tributes, these acts of kindness remind us of the vast impact Dr. Mammone had on his patients and our community.
