Investing in Innovation

Ensuring local access to world-class cardiovascular care

As the leading cause of death for men and women in the U.S., heart disease touches all of us. If not you, then very likely someone you love is at risk. That’s why local access to world-class cardiovascular care is critical.

Thanks to our community’s unwavering support, Providence Mission Hospital’s Heart and Vascular Institute is at the forefront of exceptional care. Donor funds have helped us recruit renowned caregivers, acquire leading-edge technologies and offer the latest innovative approaches to care.

“Providence Mission Hospital, our local hometown hospital, offers a level of advanced care typically found at academic medical centers,” says Mark T. Hebner, chair, Providence Hospital Foundation Board of Directors. “Donors stepped up to make that happen. As medical improvements become available, our Foundation board is partnering with the community to ensure the hospital provides the latest innovations in care to our south Orange County neighbors.”

Advancements on the horizon

Quantum leaps in health care continue, and Providence Mission Hospital is evolving to stay at the forefront. Philanthropy has been instrumental in positioning our Heart and Vascular Institute as one of the nation’s leading cardiac programs. Even as we provide exceptional care today, we continue raising funds to equip our clinical leaders with more comprehensive tools and programs to ensure our patients benefit from breakthrough treatments and therapies. Current fundraising priorities include:

  • Acquiring equipment and technology — Philanthropy will ensure our physicians and caregivers have access to advanced technologies for treatment and therapeutics.
  • Expanding and upgrading facilities — Donor support will assist us in expanding and upgrading our facilities. Two planned capital investments include our specialty cardiac catheterization labs and a new interventional radiology suite.
  • Creating endowed chairs — A staple in academic medical centers, donor-funded endowed chairs are critical recruitment and retention tools to attract top clinical leaders in a competitive health care landscape.

“We plan improvements with the faith that our donor partners will join us in bringing lifesaving new treatment tools to Providence Mission Hospital,” says chief executive Seth Teigen. “On behalf of a grateful community, we thank those generous philanthropists whose support ensures we continue to offer exceptional care.”
