Comprehensive neurologic care for a patient in crisis
Kristy and her husband, Robert, were at a school event for their daughter when she began to feel the most incredible pain, like a hammer hitting her in the head. Kristy had migraines before, but this was overwhelming.
Fortunately, Mission Hospital has one of the premier interventional radiology programs in the nation and offers the region’s most comprehensive neurologic care. Kristy’s brain aneurysm was promptly diagnosed.
“Every physician and nurse who cared for me was so nurturing and skilled,” remembers Kristy. “They made me feel treasured. I felt each one was completely devoted to my health.”
Kristy’s incredible care team included Dr. Joey Gee (neurologist), Dr. Rahul Kale (pulmonologist), Dr. Todd Lempert (interventional radiologist), Dr. Farzad Massoudi (neurosurgeon), and Dr. Chiedozie Nwagwu (neurosurgeon) and dozens of caring nurses.
“I want to thank all the donors who continue to invest in Mission Hospital,” says Kristy. “I am very grateful that we have such an incredible hospital in our community. All the donations that fund superior technology truly helped to save my life.”
“We are blessed to have an amazing integration of care at Mission Hospital,” says Dr. Joey Gee, board-certified neurologist and co-executive medical director of the Mission Neuroscience Institute. “Each discipline comes together to provide the most extraordinary care which leads to optimal healing.”
“Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Mission Neuroscience Institute is playing a leading role in neuroscience and spine care and research, significantly improving the lives of our patients and their families,” says Dr. Farzad Massoudi, board-certified neurosurgeon and co-executive medical director of the Mission Neuroscience Institute.
